Since summer 2010, Breuil-Cervinia has important news about the world of two wheels: the inauguration of two mountain bike downhill tracks.
The resort, which hosted for 6 consecutive years the international competition downhill of mountain-bike called “Maxiavalanche, decided it was time to devote himself heart and soul to this sport that promises great excitement to everybody.
The longest, which presents itself as the flagship, will start from 2900 meters of Cime Bianche lakes to reach, after an interminable serpent, the cable car to Breuil-Cervinia. Along the way, the track is equipped with a lot of maintenance and treated wood walkways, to maintain as much as possible the typical characteristics of the land crossed, allowing the bikers to enjoy that of breathtaking scenery. Breuil-Cervinia, (2050m) modern tourist resort at the foot of the Matterhorn, offers an impressive ski area.
In the scenario of the “most noble rock of Europe”, 130 km of pistes connected with Valtournenche branch for a total of 27 plants and an international connection with Zermatt, through the Cime Bianche Laghi – Plateau Rosà cable car and the Bontadini chairlift for a total of 350 km of slopes guaranteed by 59 plants overall for a total oraria capacity of 78,782 people. From Plateau Rosa you can go down towards Zermatt, or take the Ventina trail: 11 km of descent from the 3480m of the start to the 2050m of Cervinia. The area of ​​Cime Bianche Laghi (from where the 140-seater cableway goes to the Plateau Rosa) offers other beautiful descents served by the Goillet which is the gateway to the Valtournenche area. The domaine del Carosello presents paths among the pines that refer to the Cieloalto chairlift. Plan-Maison skilifts for comfortable skiing (including the four-seater chair lifts with the protective dome of Plan Maison, Fornet and Bontadini) serving tracks, also connected with Plateau Rosa, for all tastes and all levels. With a ski-to-ski connection from Plan Maison you can get to Breuil-Cervinia village and take advantage of the Crétaz area. Overlooking the Matterhorn, Valtournenche (1520 m), the historical capital of the Cervino Valley, connects through the Cime Bianche hill to the slopes of Breuil-Cervinia and Zermatt. The Valtournenche ski area winds through 35 km of slopes that reach the 3085 m altitude. The domaine skiable, offers slopes for beginners and advanced skiers, can be reached via a 12-seater gondola lift (now 2400 people) departing from the village. The facilities allow skiing over 1500m in altitude.

Ski mountaineering is a sport that originated in the Alps towards the end of the twentieth century. As the name suggests, it is a discipline that combines
characteristics of alpine skiing with others derived from climbing. With the advent of ski mountaineering, hikers have access to areas closed because
of too many environmental obstacles. Even this activity, like other winter sports, has seen in recent years, a growing number of fans.
Ski mountaineering allows you to move in a mountain enviroment, or at least at high altitudes, using specific anti-slip (skins) clamps to allow step by step climb or off tracks downhill.


The path of 3 km, surrounded by mountains Grandes Murailles and the Matterhorn in the background is varied and suitable for both beginners and experts.
Thanks to high altitude (2,050 meters), the slope of Breuil Cervinia is open all winter with natural snow. It ‘easy to reach the entrance to the city, adjacent to ample parking.
